Re: David Ambro Got Hit With a Bucket of ___ , or Threw Some
Dear Mr. Ambro:
Do you think that you are the only one who heard the recording of Howard
Knispel and Lenore Cernitz? Many have. Knispel was excited and
shouting. That is a fact. To the extent you indicate the
contrary, you are a liar. Or, clear your ears.
(You continue to lie to this day -- just like in 2006 -- when you
told John Molloy that I gave you 2004 Ducks Championship tickets in
September of that year as a gift when, in truth and in fact, I charged
them on my credit card and gave them to you because I was going into the
hospital for surgery the week of the playoffs. Why would I purchase tickets
if I knew I was not going to be at the games? Answer: As a
gesture of good will, rather than see the opportunity gone to waste. Hospital records are available on request.
You had agreed to pay me for them depending on how long the playoff series
lasted. Try four games for $80. You also forgot about the money you
said you would reimburse me for obtaining "Friends of Ed Lynch"
Financial Disclosure Forms from the BOE -- you agreed to pay half. It's
the same Ed Lynch that "The News" claimed "exclusive"
credit for exposing as a thief. I got my money from your wife --
$178 cash -- the first week in January, 2006, after there finally came a
point when there was no point in trying to be civil to you. Your
wife insisted that I take the money.)
Get
your ears checked. No one has any right or legitimate expectation of
receiving a truthful answer when they improperly demand to know whether
what they are saying is being recorded, even you! No one with any sense
or class asks such a question. As for "lying", the word doesn't
lie in your mouth or that of Supervisor Patrick Vecchio, Councilmen McCarthy
and Wehrheim or, in glaring particular, Councilwoman Patricia
Biancaniello. If you, of all people,
are appalled go argue with the United States Supreme Court or the New York
State Court of Appeals. Stow it, Ambro. The law is its own measure of
right and wrong.
Mr. Ambro, you are basically a liar, a coward, a bully and a phony who has
been covering up for a criminally corrupt Smithtown regime for more than 20
years. When it finally crumbles, so will the News and you. It's
that simple. (I'll forward a copy of an e-mail which your counterpart,
Phil Schiarillo of the Smithtown Messenger, took the liberty of putting
out as a letter and signed my name to it as though I had written a letter to his
paper -- which I did not. His resident faineant of
Taftian proportions, whose nom de plume is
Jay Beatty took out all the parts which specifically pertained to him
showing his glaring conflicts of interest in having the classless audacity
to write anything in the Messenger about anything or anyone --
particularly Councilman Wehrheim and Councilman Robert Creighton and
Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick -- and others -- while receiving
money from their political campaign war chests. Did this idler once
work for you, Mr. Ambro? Touche!)
If it weren't for your legal ads which you get from Vecchio and the Democrats'
Richie Schaeffer at the County level, you and yours would be out of
business.
As you well know, no real journalistic enterprise would hire you. No
young reporter stays with you once they see the inner workings of your office,
particularly your phone calls back and forth with Vecchio -- some telling you
to kill stories. Remember John Lauinger?
You couldn't get a job bagging groceries.
If
your sort learns anything, learn this. The best, neutral witness in a room
is a recording of the conversation occurring therein while it is
occurring. That neutral witness just goes 'round and 'round. Query: By
what stretch of reasoning would Howard Knispel, Esq. -- the
self-proclaimed trial lawyer as he claims on the recording -- conclude
that not having his words recorded would insure that they could not be
distorted? Say what? Now go back and read your story again -- sans your convenient adjec tives skewing
the facts -- and tell us how your editorial collar matches you
journalistic cuffs. Mrs. Cernitz could hardly be heard as Knispel shouted
over her and attacked the woman by speculating that she might make off with
Financial Disclosure documents from Vecchio, McCarthy, Biancaniello, Wehrheim
and Robert Creighton in her purse. He was "assertive" when he
asked, in effect, how could he be sure that Mrs. Cernitz would not alter the
documents. For the uninformed in this world, suffice it to say that
what Mrs. Cernitz had in her hands were copies. That's right,
copies. The originals were back with the Ethics Board. My advice to
the community at large is to show you as much respect as I show you
person-to-person, particularly with an audience present to witness the
show. Man-to-man, face to face, you are a chicken. As for
shouting, Mr. Ambro, your reputation for shouting precedes you over many
years. You tried it with me once. Remember the result?
As for
Knispel's doubt about the legality of Mrs. Cernitz's conduct, who's this turkey
trying to jive? Have this idiot who couldn't rub two pages of a law book
together, call Mr. Spota. I'll bring the recording over myself. Let
me be crystal clear. It was perfectly legal,100%. So let's not have
this man whose law office is basically his hat try to BS the folks with his law
degree. I went to law school too and prosecuted for 30 years. Many
were lawyers who listened to tapes of themselves in open court in front of
juries. (Remember Wayne Prospect, now residing upstate?) If Knispel wants
to make a fool out of himself that's his business. Nice try at
obfuscation, juggler. But it won't fool those who know.
Incidentally, why is Knispel's statement that Smithtown has 100,000 people in
it and Mrs. Cernitz is "the only one making trouble" left out?
(Monsieur, you give the woman too much credit.) Maybe you chose not to
hear it? Why don't you publish the full transcript and let the folks
judge for themselves. (I was given a copy a few days later, as were
others. Anyone wants to listen, just give me a call. I’d love to see their faces as they laugh at
this guy and show disgust with your lies. Mr. Ambro, recordings don't
lie. People like you and Knispel do.) Knispel's job was to sit
there and produce the documents for inspection and copies if requested, not
badger Mrs. Cernitz with his "assertiveness." He was and is a Democrat has-been candidate
for the County Legislature and was and is a Democrat contributor to
Councilwoman Patricia "Bait & Switch" Biancaniello.
Like the rest of the town board's dolts on this unethical Ethics Board, he
just doesn't belong there.
Mr. Ambro, I
respectfully challenge you to a public debate. Any time, any p
lace. Bring boss Vecchio and his driver, Councilman Wehrheim, with
you. Bring in the folks to watch me wipe the floor with you. My
father wasn't a Congressman and I didn't marry the boss's daughter. My father
was one of 13 who had to leave school when he was 13 to help support the
family. Two uncles were bus drivers. One was even a
bartender. Enough of a handicap for you? But, alas, there is now
Cablevision and the internet so the Smithtown Community no longer is dependent
on Pravda (Messenger) or its Izvestyia (The News) for its local
coverage. Three cheers for Ira and Lenore Cernitz.
Yours
truly,
Lawrence N. Gray, Esq.
