Town Board Meeting 02/26/09

1) Hearing on Amendments made to the Code of Ethics as well as Amendments to Code for Financial Disclosure. Essentially the issue that Local Views has pursued in order to obtain copies of documents of financial disclosure. Lenore Cernitz takes issue on additional point. Incorporated into the amendment is a sentence that give the members of the Board of Ethics the ability to grant confidentiality and/or an exemption if "they" are of the opinion that parts pose no conflict of interest. Checked with the Committee on Open Government, this should be taken out and reworked. Still ongoing.

2) Hearing on amendment to law for telecommunications facility and definitions. Citizen's concern LWRP should not be superseded. Another citizen advances idea for KPPC cell sites.

3) Citizen speaks on Drug evidence in Sy Donnelly Park. A big and growing problem in Smithtown.
